We are transforming our fixer into a beautiful, coastal modern home by tackling one project at a time. Our guest bathroom is next, but we also need to update our primary bathroom, powder room, and laundry space. We are keeping things simple by using the same floors and wall tiles for all these spaces. Jim and I are beyond excited to remodel our guest bath.
Check out my post, https://majesticmeadows.blog/2021/05/22/a-little-knowledge-makes-the-job-easier/ to learn how I removed this tile and reduced the mess. The guest bath has been gutted and it is time to rebuild, which includes water-proofing by Schluter schluter.com | Homepage. In this post, I will share our bathroom design options, including pretty tile and inspiration pictures. It is a good time to remember that all job aspects, including construction, plumbing, and electrical are critical to a successful project. Research, read and watch YouTube video before starting any new project.
Our bathrooms are about to go from Yikes to Wow! Ceramic Matrix in West Palm Beach has a good reputation with local designers and contractors. After finding tons of tile choices online, I made an appointment and found two inspiration photos to share with our tile expert, Chris. She made it easy and the meeting was fun, quick, and productive.
All the tile was gorgeous, so using a few inspiration photos reduces the tile selection and ensures that you will love it. The tile pictured below was one of my inspiration choices. This tile has a charming pattern and colors would be a fun WOW! moment for a bohemian or farmhouse space. ALCHEMIST by WOW – Ceramic Matrix – Floridas Natural Stone and Porcelain Tile Distributor.
What do you think? Do you like all the color and pattern? I love the pattern and the tile is similar to our color scheme.
Our final choice is more neutral, but we absolutely adore this stunning terrazzo. It will certainly provide a WOW! moment, plus we dig it’s mid-century modern history. The gorgeous 24″ by 24″ VERONESE by ARTISTIC TILE – Ceramic Matrix – Floridas Natural Stone and Porcelain Tile Distributor will look great with our second tile choice, Cloud Glossy tiles by Habitat.
I prefer our choice of terrazzo, which is lighter than the inspiration picture. Just like the picture, the terrazzo will be on the floor and go up one shower wall in our primary bath. Plus, the 2.5″ by 10.3″ white glossy tile will be stacked vertically on the walls above and next to the terrazzo. We are leaning towards brushed nickel finishes and our bath is bigger. We are demolishing a small closet to make room for a double vanity. In addition, our shower will be enclosed with glass shower doors.
We will use the same terrazzo on the floors in the guest bath and powder room. The white glossy tiles will also be placed above a new white tub and fixtures in the guest bath. The vanities and counters are the final bathroom element. We like wood for the vanity, which will add warmth and a simple white countertop would cap things off nicely.
As you can see from the picture below, all our choices – terrazzo, tile, and LVP flooring look fantastic together. We may use our kitchen contractor for the vanities and counters, which would ensure a cohesive design for the entire house.
